A resort in Sultan Bathery with three categories — up to a private pool villa. The base for Edakkal, Chembra, and the southern district.

Thanal Sultan Bathery is our resort property in the market town at the southern end of Wayanad. Sultan Bathery is the practical base for most of the district: Edakkal Caves are twenty minutes away, Chembra Peak and the waterfalls are within an hour, and the town itself has what you need without having to go looking.

Three categories are available. The Standard rooms are straightforward and comfortable. The Premium Villas give you considerably more space and a private sit-out. The Private Pool Villa is exactly that — its own pool, screened from the rest of the property, and the room people book for anniversaries.

This is the counterpart to our Coffee Estate villa at Tholpetty, at the other end of the district. Guests doing a full week in Wayanad often split their stay between the two.

Wayanad: The Coffee Hills

Wayanad sits high in the Western Ghats where Kerala meets Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It is coffee and cardamom country — plantations under old shade trees, the mist coming down by late afternoon, elephants genuinely crossing the road. The Tholpetty range of the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is on its northern edge; Sultan Bathery is the district’s market town to the south. Our two properties sit at either end, and between them cover most of what people come here for.
